Pet Portraits by Sue Whitehead
The perfect gift for someone who has a much loved pet - a pencil drawing or a pastel or watercolour painting of the animal, done from photographs supplied by you or taken by Sue, if the distance isn't too great.
If you'd like to commission a drawing or painting, either of a pet or a particular species, one or two things are worth mentioning:
a) Good photographs are important, particularly those displaying the character of the subject, for the completed work to be satisfactory.
b) As Sue does calligraphy, it is possible to combine the portrait with words of your choosing (maybe a commemorative poem if the subject has passed away). Also Christmas cards or notelets could be produced.
c) On completion of the commission, you will be emailed or posted an image of the portrait for your approval. Upon approval full payment will be requested and your order despatched.
d) If you would like the portrait framed we will be happy to discuss your requirements. We have a large selection of frame options. Otherwise the portrait will arrive mounted only.
Pricing
As a guideline, an A4 drawing starts at £40 for head only and a pastel painting starts at £70 (head only). As I usually do a drawing before I start the painting - this can be made available for a lower price of £35 in addition to the pastel or watercolour.
